The Ultra 3 is a more modern take on the Ultra 2 with its bouncier and softer SuperFOAMance midsole which is made of hi-tech and ultralight nitrogen infused material that offers extreme cushioning and energy return. This new foam is a modern, supercritical foam that is lighter, more responsive, more comfortable and more propulsive than a traditional EVA foam. Compared to other foams, SuperFOAMance is more durable and does not rip as easily.
This version of the Ultra has a more rockered midsole to make the stride smoother and to drive the runner forward.
Between the midsole and outsole you can find a full length rock plate which protects the bottom of the foot from sharp rocks and sticks. The rock plate also makes the shoe torsionally more rigid and decreases energy leakage.
The Ultra 3’s upper is multizone engineered mesh, which is extremely light, breathable and comfortable one-piece upper. The shoe’s heel is soft and is made of antislip material to prevent the foot from slipping out during the performance.
VJ's innovative Fitlock-system offers an optimal fit for the shoe by locking the foot from the arch. It also protects the arch from the impacts the foot is facing while running.

I was looking for comfortable trail shoes for mid and long distance. It’s my first VJ pair and I really like them : true to size, comfortable with good cushioning but not too clunky and a really good grip. The laces are excellent and don’t come loose. A slightly thicker insole tongue (while maintaining the overall weight of the shoe) would make it perfect.
Je ne connaissais pas la marque il y a encore 1 mois, d’autres vont la découvrir grâce à ce modèle ! Je leur trouve les qualités suivantes : légères, accroche incroyable même dans la boue, très agiles (on n’a pas l’impression d’avoir des paquebots aux pieds dans le gras notamment ou quand le parcours devient technique), très confortables, maintien sensationnel ! Le mélange de toutes ces qualités rend la chaussure incroyable ! Elles ont un seul défaut : l’eau a du mal à s’évaporer de la chaussure après des traversées de rivières, le pied reste vraiment humide pendant longtemps là où les pieds sèchent bien plus vite sur d’autres modèles. Bilan : je cherchais une chaussure pour des parcours plutôt humides ou gras. C’est difficile de trouver une chaussure légère, avec une vraie accroche et un vrai bon amorti. Et bien je les ai trouvé ! J’en suis très très content !!!! Elles sont un peu comparables aux Genesis slab de Salomon mais avec un confort vraiment supérieur , un amorti plus moelleux et un maintien encore plus important. Bravo VJ !

This is the first cushioned trail running shoe that does not feel like running on top of a bag of gummy bears. Shoe gives an excellent touch to the ground and feels very fast! I’m in love!
Pehmeä ja hengittävä kenkä. Ainoa miinus ohkaisesta iitistä, jos sitoo liian kireälle niin jalkapöytä kuristuu ja tuntuu ikävältä. Eli nauhat joutuu melko tarkkaan sitoa oikealle kireydelle. Kengän nauhat hyvä malliset.
