The Ultra 3 is a more modern take on the Ultra 2 with its bouncier and softer SuperFOAMance midsole which is made of hi-tech and ultralight nitrogen infused material that offers extreme cushioning and energy return. This new foam is a modern, supercritical foam that is lighter, more responsive, more comfortable and more propulsive than a traditional EVA foam. Compared to other foams, SuperFOAMance is more durable and does not rip as easily.
This version of the Ultra has a more rockered midsole to make the stride smoother and to drive the runner forward.
Between the midsole and outsole you can find a full length rock plate which protects the bottom of the foot from sharp rocks and sticks. The rock plate also makes the shoe torsionally more rigid and decreases energy leakage.
The Ultra 3’s upper is multizone engineered mesh, which is extremely light, breathable and comfortable one-piece upper. The shoe’s heel is soft and is made of antislip material to prevent the foot from slipping out during the performance.
VJ's innovative Fitlock-system offers an optimal fit for the shoe by locking the foot from the arch. It also protects the arch from the impacts the foot is facing while running.

These shoes are amazing. Coming from hoka tecton x-x3 line, ultra 3 are on top of the piramid. 5 stars after one race out of the box and 2 months later over 150km
Veldig fornøyd med skoene, løpte en ultra på 101 kilometer. Veldig bra grep, sålen er myk.
Demping på skoene er utrolig for en ultra.
I have been taking these shoes through sandy dunes, forest trails and wet muddy paths. I even wore them on wet asphalt. They are high stacked comfy do it all'ers. High stacked but with enough ground feel. I never felt unsave. The grip is excellent and the fit is secure, with plenty of wiggle room for the toes.
Done about 75 k in them with no sign of wear and tear. But this is a little early judgement. The only negative thing is the ankle collar is a bit high. It's touching/rubbing my anklebone. Nothing extreme but a little uncomfortable.

Really enjoyed these on proper rocky trails with lots of roots. I have used many VJ shoes over the years, and the grip is as excellent as I am used to. The shoe is light and although the sole is thicker, steps feel reliable and I could feel the terrain really well. I am 53 and my knees are equally old; these shoes feel like they give the added extra running miles per week needed for swimrun training. Also tested in wet conditions, very good, and they dry up super quickly. Thanks also for the color scheme!
I had high hopes for this shoe and thet lived up to them. Great comfort, reliable on and off the trail and the fit is great.
These are the most comfortable trail shoes with nice wide toe box. They are my first pair of VJ shoes I've owned and highly recommend them.
