Almost perfect

I've been using the show about 10 times under various conditions and I can completely agree that they are very light and fast. The fit is quite tight but perfect for my feet and after a couple of races the shoes become part of your feet and you almost forget that you are wearing them during the race. The grip is fantastic also in the wet autumn forest in Finland and it works fantastic on other terrain types, too. I have used many VJ models before but the Bold Race is definitely the best orienteering shoe right now. I can't tell much about the durability after so short time of use but it seems that the shoe is built to face quite rough conditions, too. If there's something to complain I think if you're using regular shoelace knots they open very easily so it's better to learn the appropriate way to bind the laces with the well-known orienteering knot or get the laces wet before binding them but that's really a minor issue if an issue at all. I recommend the shoe for everyone who needs an orienteering shoe he can trust in all conditions.

Together with the shoe’s one-piece upper, VJ's innovative Fitlock-system offers an optimal fit for the shoe by locking the foot from the arch. It also protects the arch from the impacts the foot is facing while running.

Advanced midsole & RacePlate

The advanced midsole is made of ultralight and energy returning material that will squeeze out every extra second you need in your race performance. In addition, the sole features an energy returning RacePlate that also protects the ball of the foot from sharp rocks and protruding sticks.

Reduces pressure to the achilles tendon/heel bone and ensures a customised snug fit.
